The 2026 vintage is now in full swing! Starting this Wednesday, August 12, the harvest begins at Stélaïa with the first Chardonnay and Pinot Noir plots.
It is an early start this year, with the first pickings taking place about a week sooner than last year—confirming the advanced development observed in the vineyards over the past few weeks.
It is no coincidence that these two grape varieties are among the first to arrive at the winery.
Chardonnay—a white variety prized for its finesse and aromatic richness—is harvested at the precise moment it strikes the right balance between ripeness and freshness. The goal is to retain vibrant acidity while fully capturing its aromatic potential.
Pinot Noir, a delicate and demanding red variety, also requires special attention. Its ripeness is closely monitored to preserve its fruitiness, finesse, and elegance.
The harvest will now continue for several weeks. Each plot will be picked at the moment deemed optimal by our teams, based on grape ripeness and the desired wine profile.
After a year of work in the vineyards, a new phase begins: the birth of the 2026 vintage.
We will share the rhythm of the harvest with you over the coming weeks, from the first pickings to the arrival of the final bunches at the winery.
