The origins of Stélaïa
Over 4,000 years ago, on the lands of Pic Saint Loup, our ancestors carved stone stelae now known as the ‘“Déesses Muettes”’. Silent yet deeply meaningful figures, they embodied the beliefs, protection and hopes of a people deeply connected to the land. “Les Déesses Muettes” range draws its inspiration directly from this heritage. It carries its memory and symbolism: that of an intimate bond between humankind, time and the land.
These vintages reflect Stélaïa’s roots. They are authentic, well-balanced wines that reveal the richness of the soils and embody a simple aim: to let the terroir express itself.

THE TERROIRS
The expression
of Pic Saint Loup
In the heart of Pic Saint Loup, the Stélaïa vineyard stretches across high-altitude terroirs, between the Cévennes and the Mediterranean.
The Pic Saint Loup AOP is characterised by its limestone soils, varied exposures and significant day-to-night temperature variations. These natural conditions allow the grapes to ripen slowly, preserving their freshness, balance and aromatic complexity. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre find a precise and elegant expression here, giving rise to structured, fresh wines that are perfectly suited to food and wine pairings.
As the appellation’s leading producer, Stélaïa plays an active role in its development and promotion, championing its identity, high standards and expertise.
IGP SAINT GUILHEM LE DÉSERT, A promising terroir
Situated near Pic Saint Loup, the IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert offers a complementary terroir, characterised by diverse soils and Mediterranean climatic influences. With greater flexibility in its blends and winemaking approaches, this IGP allows us to explore a variety of styles, emphasising fruit, freshness and approachability.
Stélaïa also produces wines under the AOP Languedoc and IGP Pays d’Oc designations, which complement this mosaic of terroirs and reveal other facets of the region.

In the vineyard: observing, nurturing, deciding
We cultivate each plot with precision, taking into account the soils, aspect and grape varieties. Plot-by-plot selection, technical monitoring throughout the year and harvesting at the optimum moment allow us to bring out the very best in the grapes, whilst respecting the terroir.
In the cellar: revealing character without altering it
Each cuvée undergoes a tailored winemaking process: extended fermentation, carefully controlled aging, and work in vats, barrels or amphorae depending on the desired profiles. Combining traditional expertise with modern tools, the cellar favours a precise approach to bring out the balance, fruit and identity of each wine.
